Más conocido como "Big Baby", Davis, no sólo ha reemplazado con garantía al alero estelar Kevin Garnett, sino que además con su canasta en la última décima de segundo del partido permitió a los Celtics ganar por 94-95 para empatar a 2-2 la serie al mejor de siete y recuperar la ventaja de campo.

La acción de Davis salvó a los Celtics de regresar a su campo del Northbank Garden, de Boston, con una desventaja adversa de 1-3 que les hubiese puesto al borde del abismo de la eliminación, mientras que ahora recuperan todas las posibilidades de estar de nuevo en las finales de la Conferencia Este.

La serie regresa a Boston, donde el martes se jugará el quinto partido y volverá de nuevo a Orlando para el sexto en viernes.

El quinto partido se disputará el próximo martes en el Staples Center y la serie regresará de nuevo a Houston para jugarse el sexto el jueves.

Brooks, con 34 puntos (12-20 tiros de campo, incluidos 4-9 triples y 6-6 desde la línea de personal), su mejor marca como profesional, se convirtió en el gran líder de los Rockets, que contra todos los pronósticos, y a pesar de la baja del pívot chino Yao Ming, fueron de principio a fin superiores a los Lakers.

El entrenador Rick Adelman eligió al ala-pívot Chuck Hayes para ocupar el puesto de Ming, mientras que Battier hizo de primera opción ofensiva con los triples que iban a hundir a los Lakers.

Gasol jugó 39 minutos para anotar 11 de 17 tiros de campo y 8-13 desde la línea de personal, puso dos tapones y dio una asistencia.

Pero a Bryant le faltó la inspiración ante el gran marcaje que le hizo Battier y anotó 7 de 17 tiros de campo, con 13 puntos conseguidos en la primera parte y sólo dos en la segunda, para simbolizar la derrota de su equipo.

El comienzo del partido fue espectacular para los Rockets con Battier infalible en los tiros a canasta con 4-4, incluido 3-3 triples, y 1-1 desde la línea de personal, para 12 puntos que permitió al equipo de Houston ponerse con parcial de 29-16, mientras que Bryant logró nueve y cinco fueron de Gasol para los Lakers.

Pero lo más importante para los Rockets, habían puesto nervioso a Bryant que se dirigió al veterano árbitro Dick Bavetta para reclamarle una falta que le habían hecho en el tiro a canasta y recibió una falta técnica.
